There were no more sources of information in the morning, but now more reports are gradually emerging. According to the Belgian newspaper 'De Tijd,' Nio is preparing to make a takeover bid for this crisis-hit factory in the capital of Belgium. Nio has kept a low profile on this matter. When contacted by Germany's 'Automobilwoche,' Nio declined to comment on the rumors about acquiring Audi's Brussels plant. In recent weeks, a delegation of potential Chinese investors visited the factory, which has been part of Audi since 2007, as confirmed by Belgian union representatives to 'Automobilwoche.'
The union confirmed that a delegation of Chinese investors is in talks, and the Belgian newspaper revealed it to be Nio, though Nio has not confirmed this.
