Likes ReceivedRumors suggest that $Apple(AAPL.US) will deploy high-end chips in cloud computing servers to handle the most advanced AI tasks on Apple devices, while simpler AI-related functions will be processed directly on iPhones, iPads, and Macs.
If the news is true, it still shows that compared to end-consumer products like computers and smartphones, which have rigid requirements for hardware size, developing AI on servers as intermediate production materials is slightly easier. It also strongly suggests that Apple's path may involve self-developed AI GPUs, integrated into its existing chip product line to achieve cloud-based AI functions and simpler on-device AI capabilities, still emphasizing in-house hardware development.
If on-device AI is delayed, it likely means that large-scale hardware upgrades (computers, smartphones, iPads, etc.) driven by AI will take some more time to materialize.
