Former Cruise CEO Kyle Vogt posted that General Motors has "repeatedly missed the mark" on new technologies, such as being a pioneer in electric vehicles with the EV1 but abandoning it midway. Technologies like the Volt met the same fate. What frustrates Vogt this time is that Cruise recently indefinitely postponed the launch of its Origin autonomous shuttle project after an accident, leaving it in a tough spot. Although General Motors argued that it could continue development using Chevrolet Bolts to save costs, it might fall behind in the competition as a result. Basically, there's not much left for GM in the Robotaxi game.
