My performance in the US stock market has been terrible since October. One reason is that the US market is becoming more like the A-share market, with tightening liquidity and no more broad-based rallies. If you don't pick the right sector or get the timing wrong, it's extremely difficult.

Another reason is that after making some profits, I got overconfident and started following the hype, buying stocks just because others were promoting them. Especially in the US market, where research isn't that deep, it's easy to get lazy when someone hypes a stock. If it's a mega7 stock, then of course it's fine. But for those small-cap stocks, every single one of them, if you buy, you're guaranteed to take a huge loss.

You absolutely have to make your own judgment, at least check if this stock/play is a recent hot topic. Buying into a cold sector, a cold small-cap stock... it's really a 45-degree decline, non-stop. Don't be too superstitious about community influencers.

It's good when people share, but it should only serve as a starting point for your own thinking.

If you actually follow and buy, then don't blame others. You win some, you lose some.

Seriously, you can look at the stocks being hyped in the community and backtest them. You'll find... the results are quite disappointing. Not only do they underperform QQQ, but many get cut in half.

There should still be a golden opportunity before this year's midterm elections, so keep your ammunition ready, buy good stocks, be a good person, and get good karma.
