Tesla Upgrade: Equipped with HW4.0 Hardware, More Features at the Same Price!
Tesla is upgrading Tesla in China with HW4.0 hardware, while keeping the price unchanged. This is a move by Tesla to boost sales in the world's largest automotive market. HW4.0 provides longer detection range, stronger perception capabilities, and better computing power, and has already been deployed on other Tesla models. In addition, Tesla will also offer new color options. Tesla also lowered the price of Tesla last month and warned in its earnings report that sales growth in 2024 will slow down.
Zhitong App has learned that Tesla has upgraded the autopilot hardware of its Tesla sport utility vehicle in China, the latest move to boost sales in the world's largest automotive market.
On Thursday, Tesla announced on its official WeChat account that it will now offer free installation of Tesla's HW 4.0 autopilot hardware, which includes upgraded cameras and onboard computers. The starting price for this SUV is RMB 258,900 (USD 36,100), and in addition to the current black, white, and navy blue options, three new colors will be available - red, silver, and gray.
HW 4.0 provides longer detection range, stronger perception capabilities, and better computing power. It has already been deployed in Tesla's Model S and Model X vehicles, as well as some Tesla models outside of China.
The company continues to lower prices, with a 6% price reduction for the Model 3 sedan last month. Tesla warned during its earnings report last week that sales growth will slow down in 2024.
