ICBC's top leadership changes, President Liao Lin will take over as Chairman

On the evening of February 1st, ICBC announced that Chen Siqing resigned as Chairman, Executive Director, Chairman of the Board's Strategic Committee, and Committee Member of the Bank due to age reasons. The Board of Directors elected Liao Lin as the Chairman of the Bank.

On the same day, ICBC announced that in order to ensure the normal operation of the Board of Directors, in accordance with relevant laws and regulations such as the Company Law and the Company's Articles of Association, and in consideration of the needs of the Board of Directors' work, Liao Lin was elected as the Chairman of ICBC by the Board of Directors.

The announcement also stated that due to work adjustments, Liao Lin will resign as the President of ICBC. In order to ensure the normal operation of management work, in accordance with regulations and the Company's Articles of Association, Liao Lin will act as the President until the new President officially takes office.

It is worth noting that there were signs of personnel changes in this matter. As early as January 20th, ICBC announced that on the same day, relevant officials from the Central Organization Department attended the ICBC cadre meeting and announced the central decision: Liao Lin was appointed as the Secretary of the ICBC Party Committee, and Chen Siqing was relieved of his position as Secretary of the ICBC Party Committee.

According to his resume, Liao Lin graduated from Guangxi Agricultural University and later obtained a Ph.D. in Management from Southwest Jiaotong University. He is a senior economist.

Liao Lin joined China Construction Bank in 1989 and has served as Deputy President of CCB, President of Ningxia Branch, President of Hubei Branch, President of Beijing Branch, Chief Risk Officer and Deputy President of China Construction Bank.

Since November 2019, Liao Lin has been transferred to ICBC and has served as Deputy President of ICBC and Deputy President and Chief Risk Officer.

Since July 2020, Liao Lin has served as an Executive Director of ICBC.

Since March 2021, Liao Lin has served as Vice Chairman, Executive Director, and President of ICBC.
