Dallas-based Comerica Bank has reached a governance agreement with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) to address compliance issues, including wealth management, third-party risk, and financial accounting. The bank will implement corrective actions, establish a compliance committee, and enhance financial data collection and regulatory reporting. Comerica will also develop a program to manage third-party risks and strengthen internal controls. This agreement comes after the bank faced investigations for overdrawing its own accounts and mismanaging a federal benefits program.
