Last Friday, an erroneous update from CrowdStrike security software caused computers running Microsoft Windows operating system to crash, disrupting global internet services and impacting almost every industry. Malaysian Minister of Communications and Multimedia, Gobind Singh Deo, stated today that five government agencies and nine aviation, banking, and healthcare companies in Malaysia were affected. Gobind mentioned that he has met with representatives from Microsoft and CrowdStrike to seek a comprehensive report on the incident and has requested both companies to take measures to prevent similar events from happening again. Gobind said, "If there is any damage or loss, if any party makes such claims, I have asked them to consider these claims and see to what extent they can help resolve the issue." Additionally, the Malaysian government will assist in claims where possible
