Report: Apple may use LG Display as the secondary supplier for iPhone SE4 OLED, while BOE remains the primary supplier

According to foreign media reports on the 30th, Apple may launch the iPhone SE4 next year and designate LG Display as a secondary supplier of OLED screens.

Apple's iPhone SE screens have always been exclusively supplied by BOE. However, sources say that starting next year, BOE will become the main supplier for the iPhone SE4. LG Display, as a secondary supplier, will mainly provide screens for older models.

The iPhone SE series mostly uses reusable components from older iPhone models. However, Apple will equip it with relatively new processors to make it competitive in the same price range. For example, the upcoming iPhone SE4 will use OLED screens used in the iPhone 13, partly for production convenience and cost savings, which will benefit Apple in launching this model in emerging markets like India.

Apple has been cultivating BOE as its OLED screen supplier for iPhones to prevent excessive influence from Samsung and LG Display in the supply chain.
