On August 3rd, according to The Block, David Plouffe, who previously held positions in the cryptocurrency field, will join the campaign team of US Vice President Harris. It is reported that Plouffe, who previously worked in the Obama administration, will serve as a senior advisor to Harris. Plouffe has made multiple statements about cryptocurrencies in the past, and in recent years, he joined the global advisory board of Binance and served as a global strategic advisor for Alchemy Pay, a company that connects cryptocurrencies and fiat currencies. About a year ago, Plouffe mentioned the necessity of establishing new regulations for the cryptocurrency industry in an interview. In a 2023 interview, Plouffe briefly mentioned the collapse of the cryptocurrency exchange FTX, stating that this made "people pay more attention to this industry." He said, "There will be regulations, the question is whether regulatory agencies can find the right balance to give consumers confidence, transparency, without essentially stifling this industry?"
