The three major US stock indexes collectively closed higher, with the Dow rising by 0.13%, the Nasdaq rising by 0.57%, and the S&P 500 rising by 0.42%. Most large technology stocks rose, with Meta up over 1%, Tesla and Nvidia up nearly 1%, and Google down nearly 1%. The clothing retail, scientific instruments, and metal processing sectors led the gains, with Ross Stores and Gap up over 4%, MKS Instruments up over 3%, and Agilent Technologies and Corning up over 2%. Department stores, as well as oil and natural gas extraction, trended lower, with Macy's down nearly 13%, Nordstrom down over 3%, and Nabors Industries down over 1%
