Despite the scorching sun, the flow of people at the Yichuang International Convention and Exhibition Center is continuous. The annual robot event - the 2024 World Robot Conference is being held here.
The conference lasts for 5 days, with 169 companies exhibiting over 600 innovative products, including more than 60 new products launched for the first time. Please follow DoNews closely to take a look at these tech-savvy robots.
"Humanoid robots" have been in the spotlight in recent years. At the World Artificial Intelligence Conference not long ago, the "Eighteen Arhats" performed a collective show of silicon-based life. At this robot conference, 27 humanoid robots made their debut, setting a record for all previous sessions.
One of the most eye-catching booths is Tesla. After a year, Optimus has transformed again. Its overall control ability and balance have evolved. Building on its ability to walk upright, its walking speed has increased by 30%. The ten fingers have also "evolved" to have perception and touch. With the help of visual neural networks and FSD chips, Optimus can imitate human operations in the Tesla factory for battery sorting training. It is understood that next year, over 1000 Optimus robots will help people complete tasks in the factory.

The "first stock of humanoid robots," UBTECH Robotics, appeared with the "humanoid robot idol group" including Walker S and Walker S Lite, and also publicly showcased the "humanoid robot industrial scene solution" for the first time, focusing on industries such as automotive and 3C manufacturing, aiming to enhance the robot's capabilities in tool operation and task execution.
The "UBTECH humanoid robot industrial scene solution" integrates the company's latest research and development achievements in embodied intelligent technology, including industrial scene large model technology, computer vision perception, semantic VSLAM navigation, learning-based full-body motion control, and other full-stack technologies. These technologies enable UBTECH's Walker S series humanoid robots to perform various industrial tasks such as intelligent handling, sorting, and quality inspection.

The robot stands at about 1.7 meters tall, weighs 60 kilograms, almost equivalent to an adult male. To flexibly control such a large body, it is necessary to first enhance the environmental perception and understanding capabilities of humanoid robots in open scenarios, and also extremely test the coordination capabilities of the limbs.
At the scene, iFLYTEK's humanoid robot can not only walk upright and stand with bent knees, but also easily pour coffee, use a towel to "wipe sweat", with a 2x increase in overall mobility performance compared to the previous generation, and a success rate of over 95% in decomposing complex tasks.
EX ROBOT exhibited a humanoid bionic robot named "Su Shi", which allows the audience to interact and compose poetry with it.

Unitree Technology brought two new products - the humanoid robot UNITREE G1 and the quadruped robot UNITREE Go2-W. Compared to the H1 released last year, the G1 is more affordable, starting at 99,000 yuan (RMB).
Go2-W demonstrated high activity, not only waving hands, making heart gestures, jumping, and climbing stairs, but also performing cool skills such as handstand walking, flipping up, and obstacle climbing through large-scale reinforcement learning AI simulation training on site. With the help of the large model, the robot can also engage in Chinese and English conversations, answer various questions, and demonstrate knowledge in multiple fields.

Stardust Intelligence's humanoid robot Astribot S1 demonstrated writing with a handheld brush at the conference. In addition, this robot has mastered various skills such as cooking, folding clothes, opening bottles, and dancing. Currently, S1 has successfully connected to the large model for testing and is expected to complete commercial deployment within 2024.

At the iFLYTEK booth, a few young chess players were deeply focused on playing chess, with their opponent being the Alpha Egg Go-playing robot making its first appearance in front of the audience. As a player made a move, the Alpha Egg Go-playing robot's agile mechanical arm picked up a chess piece and placed it steadily on the board, with precision. The Alpha Egg Go-playing robot is a new product soon to be launched by Alpha Egg, which not only applies image recognition and speech recognition technology, but also innovatively incorporates a mechanical arm. It can play chess face-to-face with children, match its own chess skills based on the opponent's level, and even play Gomoku.

Various industrial robots also received high attention at this conference.
Beijing Yanling Jiaye Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. brought the high-load six-axis industrial robot, which is the largest robot in terms of size at this year's robotics conference, and currently the largest domestically produced industrial robot. The head of R&D, Liu Dayu, mentioned that due to the limited exhibition area, this robot has not been able to fully demonstrate its gripping ability. Currently, this robot can lift weights up to 1.2 tons, easily picking up a car Image Source: 2024 World Robot Conference
The ultra-high-speed desktop industrial robots brought by Jingcheng Electromechanical have advantages such as high speed, high precision, high reliability, high protection level, and small footprint. Currently, they are widely used in customer scenarios such as Samsung, Foxconn, and Huawei. The six desktop robots in the booth area move uniformly, giving off a somewhat magical vibe.

Medical robots also attracted a lot of attention.
Changmugu independently developed the AI+ROBOT orthopedic surgery robot ROPA, with surgical control accuracy breaking through the millimeter level. It solves traditional surgical bottlenecks such as shortening surgery time, reducing surgical risks, and alleviating patient pain. ROPA consists of three parts: "smart brain," "smart hand," and "smart eye." Among them, the "smart brain" acts as a super assistant to the doctor, and can help the doctor accurately formulate personalized three-dimensional surgical plans within 5 to 10 minutes before surgery based solely on the patient's CT imaging data, thereby increasing surgical accuracy to over 96.7%.

Aibohuichuang introduced the new vascular intervention surgery robot Roboangio, which adopts a unique multi-instrument collaborative control method. It can comprehensively cover various operational aspects during surgery, allowing surgeons to complete the surgery in a zero-radiation environment.
Zhongke Zhongde exhibited medical delivery robots "Jiying" and "Jixing," which bridge the gap in unmanned delivery of repetitive medical supplies between various departments in hospitals. This solves problems such as time consumption, congestion, errors, and cross-interference of personnel/logistics in medical material delivery, making medical material distribution safer, more efficient, and more intelligent.
