Evergrande founder Xu Jiayin's ex-wife Ding Yumei's assets have been frozen, and she has been allowed to withdraw approximately HKD 204,000 per month as living expenses. Evergrande was liquidated by a Hong Kong court earlier this year, with the liquidators seeking to recover $6 billion in dividends and remuneration from 2017 to 2020, and freezing related assets. The freezing of Ding Yumei's assets is part of the liquidators' asset recovery efforts, as she has over £4 million in her bank accounts in the UK

Leju Finance Xu Di reported on September 11th that, according to foreign reports citing the latest ruling by a UK court, Ding Yumei, the ex-wife of China Evergrande's founder Xu Jiaying, has been granted a monthly allowance of £20,000 (approximately HKD 204,000) for living expenses.

Earlier this year, China Evergrande was ordered to liquidate by a Hong Kong court, marking one of the largest liquidation cases in China. The liquidators sought to recover a total of $6 billion (approximately HKD 46.8 billion) in Evergrande dividends and remuneration from 2017 to 2020 from Xu Jiaying, Ding Yumei, and 7 others, and froze their assets. The recent ruling is part of the liquidators' efforts to recover assets from Evergrande.

One month ago, Ding Yumei's assets were frozen in a lawsuit brought by the Evergrande liquidators. The lawsuit aimed to recover around HKD 2.8 billion (USD 359 million) in dividends received by Ding Yumei through two fully-owned companies from 2018 to 2020.

According to a court document dated August 29th, Ding Yumei has over £4 million in her UK bank account and resides in a luxury apartment in London, which is part of the ThamesCity project developed by Zhongyu Real Estate
