Apple iPhone 16 officially unveiled, which chip stock is expected to benefit?

According to the Zhitong Finance APP, investment firm KeyBanc Capital Markets stated on Tuesday that the impact of Apple's (AAPL.US) new iPhone 16 smartphone series on the semiconductor industry is mixed.

Analyst John Vinh mentioned that on the positive side, companies like Cirrus Logic (CRUS.US), Qualcomm (QCOM.US), and Broadcom (AVGO.US) may benefit for various reasons. Vinh explained that with the iPhone 16 Pro adopting quad-reflection prism telephoto lens technology, and the new camera control system possibly having a haptic driver, Cirrus Logic should benefit.

Furthermore, Vinh believes that the upgrades to the new ultra-wide-angle camera in the iPhone 16 Pro, Pro Max, and iPhone 16 Plus may utilize the latest generation of camera controllers, which is a positive for Cirrus Logic.

Additionally, as all the new iPhone 16 models have upgraded to Wi-Fi 7, this is a positive impact for Broadcom.

Vinh mentioned that other beneficiaries of the new iPhone include Analog Devices (ADI.US) and Qualcomm, with the former benefiting from the force sensor in the new product's camera control system, and the latter benefiting from the potential increase in RF products in the new iPhone.

Negative and Neutral Impact

On the other hand, Vinh stated that there are negative impacts on the semiconductor industry as well, especially for Skyworks Solutions (SWKS.US), which is expected to be affected by the reduction of Qualcomm's RF products in the new iPhone.

The impact on Qorvo (QRVO.US) is more neutral within a certain range. Vinh mentioned that although there is no significant increase in Qorvo's product content in this phone, there are expectations for Qorvo to increase its content
