Sensor Tower data shows that in August 2024, the revenue of Chinese mobile game publishers increased by 41% month-on-month. "Honor of Kings" reclaimed the top spot on the global bestseller list, with Tencent, NetEase, and Lilith Games ranking as the top three domestic companies. 34 Chinese companies made it to the global TOP100, with a total revenue of $2.09 billion, accounting for 37.3% of global revenue. On September 18, DoNews reported that according to Sensor Tower data, in August 2024, a total of 34 Chinese companies made it to the top 100 global mobile game publishers by revenue, collectively generating $2.09 billion (approximately RMB 14.839 billion), accounting for 37.3% of the total revenue of the top 100 mobile game publishers globally in this period.
The Chinese mobile game publishers that made it to the global top 100 revenue list include: 4399, Glacier Network, JX World, and ZM Star Communication, among others.
In August, "Honor of Kings" successively launched activities such as the Qixi Festival, the Fox Spirit Matchmaker collaboration skin, and the Miracle Voyage, leading to a 41% increase in revenue compared to the previous period. It reclaimed the top spot on the global best-selling mobile game chart and boosted Tencent's mobile game revenue by 5.4% compared to the previous period.
Following the total revenue surpassing $1 billion (approximately RMB 7.1 billion), the survival strategy mobile game "Whiteout Survival: Endless Winter" achieved a new monthly revenue record in both domestic and overseas markets at the end of August. This led to a 15% increase in revenue for the publisher DotDot Interactive in this period, securing a spot in the top three Chinese mobile game publishers by revenue for the first time.
In August 2024, the top four mobile game revenue rankings on the Chinese App Store were all Tencent games, including "Honor of Kings," "Dungeon & Warrior: Origin," "Peace Elite," and "Gold Shovel Battle."
