NVIDIA collaborates with UAE's G42 to develop weather forecasting AI models

NVIDIA announced a partnership with G42, an AI application development company in the United Arab Emirates, to utilize existing technological reserves and develop a weather forecasting AI model based on NVIDIA's Earth-2 project. NVIDIA launched the Earth-2 project in 2021 to establish a digital twin model of the Earth. This collaboration between NVIDIA and G42 aims to jointly develop a "resolution reaching every square kilometer" weather forecasting AI model to provide more accurate weather information for specific regions. The two parties plan to establish a dedicated operational base and climate technology laboratory in Abu Dhabi, UAE, to serve as a research and development center. They will utilize the laboratory's over 100PB of geophysical data to create customized climate and weather solutions
