
Apple releases iOS 18.0.1, fixing the unresponsive touch issue on iPhone 16/Pro

Apple has released the iOS 18.0.1 update, fixing the unresponsive touch issue on iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro, and introducing the "Lost Device Protection" feature. In addition, iPad has also been updated to iPadOS 18.0.1, resolving the bricking issue on M4 iPad devices and fixing other performance issues
Apple pushed the iOS 18.0.1 update to iPhone users today (internal version number: 22A3370), 17 days after the release of iOS 18 on September 17th.

This update provides the following important bug fixes and security updates for iPhone:
- The touch screen of iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro models may temporarily become unresponsive under certain circumstances.
- On iPhone 16 Pro models, the "Camera" app may lag when HDR is turned off and recording 4K macro mode videos with the ultra-wide camera.
- When replying with shared Apple Watch dial information, the "Messages" app may unexpectedly exit.
- Performance of some iPhone models may be affected by memory allocation issues.
Additionally, based on user feedback, the iOS 18.0.1 update also introduces the "Lost Device Protection" feature. Apple's official description states: "In case your iPhone is lost and someone knows your password, this feature provides an additional layer of security."
Furthermore, Apple also released the iPadOS 18.0.1 update for iPad devices, fixing the issue that bricked M4 iPad devices in the previous update.
