In the second half of the year, when it comes to the hottest models in the automotive industry, the XPeng MONA M03 must have a place, leading XPeng to turn the tide directly. Following closely during the National Day holiday, the XPeng G6 broke through again and became one of the "hot buys".
Now, XPeng has decided to strike while the iron is hot and continue to create explosive models. On October 10th, XPeng's first global AI car, the XPeng P7+, made its global debut in Shenzhen. This car emphasizes household comfort, highlighting spaciousness, intelligence, and high aesthetics.
He Xiaopeng is particularly looking forward to this car, as it is XPeng's flagship for the next decade.
He Xiaopeng stated that the XPeng P7+ has two missions since its inception: to allow more ordinary people to experience luxurious executive-level space and comfort, and to let more gasoline car users experience the fun of advanced intelligent pure electric vehicles.
Currently, the XPeng P7+ display cars have arrived at stores, with pre-sales at the Paris Motor Show on October 14th, and official launch and delivery in early November. Previously, it was stated that this car would only be unveiled in the fourth quarter, with no confirmed launch date. However, it seems that XPeng is picking up the pace to attract more attention.
One question that the public has been paying attention to regarding this new car is why it is named P7+.
In XPeng's definition, the P7 series is positioned in aesthetics and intelligence, but these two models have their own characteristics. The P7i focuses on individual sports, while the P7+ emphasizes household comfort.
Furthermore, the previous XPeng P7 was the earliest explosive model in the XPeng family and a sedan model. Since it could ride on the success of its own explosive model, why not? Additionally, assigning a new serial number would make the product line more chaotic and reduce the user base.
Compared to the previous P7 series, XPeng has made several product upgrades this time.
Firstly, in the field of intelligence that XPeng has always excelled in.
The XPeng P7+ is the first to be equipped with XPeng's new generation AI Eagle Eye Vision solution. Compared to the laser radar solution, the perception distance has increased by 125%, recognition speed has increased by 40%, and it comes standard with dual NVIDIA Orin-X intelligent driving chips with a computing power of 508 TOPS. At the same time, this solution is the industry's first to adopt a single-pixel LOFIC architecture.
Its intelligent driving level has reached the highest level of XPeng, coupled with the first launch of the AI Tianji 5.4.0 version system, providing an AI driving experience without restrictions on road conditions or routes, making it usable nationwide and activating XNGP at 0 speed, starting in place. He Xiaopeng pointed out that this feature will be available upon delivery.
In terms of the intelligent cockpit, this is the first domestic large model equipped with a car system. The XPeng P7+ is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 automotive-grade cockpit chip, combined with a 12.3-inch full LCD instrument panel, a 15.6-inch central control screen, and an 8-inch rear entertainment screen, achieving a virtual cockpit with multi-screen interaction.
He Xiaopeng said: "I can confidently tell everyone that XPeng's intelligent driving level will undergo a new leap on the P7+, conservatively speaking, it will double."
Furthermore, on the XPeng P7+, special emphasis is placed on space To emphasize space, this car is also known as the "SUV version of a coupe" and the "coupe with the largest space under 300,000 RMB." Specifically, this car claims to have a best-in-class "room rate" of 88%. The dimensions of the car are 5056/1937/1512mm in length, width, and height respectively, with a wheelbase of 3000mm.
In order to showcase the space in the trunk, He Xiaopeng even took luggage out of the trunk on the spot. It is understood that if the rear seats are folded down, this model's trunk can accommodate 33 pieces of 20-inch luggage.
Currently, what consumers are most concerned about is the price.
In the current context, the price of this car is under 300,000 RMB. For reference, another model in Xiaopeng's P7 series, the P7i, currently has a guide price of 223,900 to 339,900 RMB.
On the Xiaopeng MONA M03, the expected price at the time was in the 150,000 RMB range, but the actual starting price was less than 120,000 RMB; now, the so-called "under 300,000 RMB" for Xiaopeng P7+ should also be lower.
After the success of the MONA M03, He Xiaopeng personally treated employees to afternoon tea. At that time, he stated that in the next five quarters, Xiaopeng will launch a new car each quarter, posing a greater challenge to marketing.
Now, the challenge has begun.
Whether the success of the MONA M03 can be replicated, or if this path will be effective for other models, depends on the pricing of the Xiaopeng P7+ upon its launch.
After all, in the current market, many times, the various preparations in the early stage are fuel, and whether they can ignite the market depends on whether the price is a igniter or a fire extinguisher.
Furthermore, looking at this year's market performance, it seems that hybrid/extended-range vehicles dominate, with both types of models often having higher overall sales; while the upper limit of pure electric models is often limited, there are iconic products, but not many, especially for higher-priced pure electric models, which are even more challenging, and this is the market reality that Xiaopeng needs to face.
When the Xiaopeng MONA M03 was launched, He Xiaopeng revealed that the price was only finalized on the morning of the press conference. As for the pricing issue currently faced by the Xiaopeng P7+, it is no easier than that of the MONA M03.
Next, we look forward to the pricing of the Xiaopeng P7+
