
Germany: Huge Costs Hit the Aviation Industry Hard
Currently, the aviation business in Germany is experiencing a sharp decline. For airlines, the site selection costs at German airports are particularly high, including air traffic control fees, aviation taxes, and aviation security fees. According to German media reports, aviation taxes in Germany increased by 20% this May, with an average ticket price increase of €15.53, and the highest increase reaching €70.83. Under these high taxes and fees, executives from several airlines, including Lufthansa and Ryanair, have expressed dissatisfaction. Lufthansa's Chairman and CEO Carsten Spohr stated, "I am very concerned about the connectivity between our different operating locations; the actions of the German government are exacerbating the crisis in the aviation industry."
