On November 3rd, online fashion media Miss Tweed reported that high-end down jacket manufacturer Moncler may be considering acquiring the British luxury company Burberry, thereby creating a giant in outdoor products.
According to industry insiders cited by Miss Tweed, Bernard Arnault, the owner of LVMH who recently invested in Moncler, expressed support for the deal.
Following the announcement, Burberry's stock price rose by 8%, reaching its highest level in nearly four months, while Moncler's stock price fell by 1.5% on Monday.
It is noteworthy that Burberry's stock price has dropped by 41.15% year-to-date, currently reported at $10.47 per share.
However, Bloomberg reported that spokespersons for both Burberry and Moncler declined to comment on the matter
