Tesla launches manual heating function for charging port

According to reports, Tesla has added the "charging port heater" feature for the 2024 Model X and some 2023 Model Y in the latest version 2024.44.3.1. Tesla has equipped all vehicles with a charging port heater since the end of 2020 and has previously offered other similar preheating functions, but these required activating other vehicle functions. For example, "rear defrost" would heat the charging port while heating the mirrors. Additionally, users could start the charging port heater through preconditioning, but this would also heat the cabin. Tesla stated that after preconditioning, the vehicle's battery supercharging performance is improved, and the automatic defogging effect of the windshield during and after supercharging will also be better. After updating to 2024.44.3.1, Tesla owners can now manually activate the charging port heater without needing to enable other functions
