According to multiple media reports, recently, Zhu Xiaojing, President and CEO of Walmart China, sent an internal letter to all employees mentioning important personnel changes at Sam's Club. Walmart China also confirmed the personnel appointments to the media. According to the appointment letter, Wen Ande, Vice CEO of Walmart China and President of Sam's Club, will retire on January 31, 2025, and Jane Ewing, Senior Vice President of Operations at Walmart International, will act in his position. In 2016, under Wen Ande's promotion, the membership fee for Sam's Club China increased from 150 yuan/year to 260 yuan/year. After the membership fee upgrade, Sam's Club China also did a lot of work to enhance the shopping experience for members, which improved the membership renewal rate. As of September 2023, Sam's Club members spend an average of 13,000 yuan annually at Sam's, with a renewal rate stable at over 60%
