Nissan and Honda promote merger operations, China's strategy remains unchanged

It has been a month since Nissan and Honda announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding to advance their merger operations. On January 21, Nissan Motor stated through its wholly-owned enterprise, Nissan Investment Co., Ltd., that it will continue to implement the previously established strategy in the short term. In the Chinese market, Nissan Motor will be guided by "The Arc Plan" and aims to introduce 8 new energy vehicles to the Chinese market by the 2026 fiscal year, including 5 models under the Nissan brand, covering various power paths such as pure electric, plug-in hybrid, and range-extended. In addition, Nissan Motor will also increase its R&D investment in China, recruit technical talent, and the R&D investment in the Dongfeng Nissan new energy vehicle sector will exceed 10 billion yuan over the next three years, with the technical center expanding its workforce to 4,000 people. In the long term, it will integrate the resources of both parties, such as talent and technology, with Honda Motor to stimulate synergies and enhance the medium- to long-term corporate value
