
TSX Composite drops on Monday; shares down at market start

Canadian equities opened lower on Monday, with the TSX Composite Index down 1.58%. The TSX Venture and Smallcap indices also fell by 1.82% and 1.42%, respectively. Top gainers included Fortuna Mining (+3.53%) and Energy Fuels Inc (+4.04%), while BRP Inc (-11.50%) and Magna Intl (-9.01%) were among the biggest losers. In commodities, Brent Oil rose by 0.59%, while gold futures increased by 28.99 points. The USD/CAD exchange rate started the week over 1.46, with the Manufacturing PMI data being the main economic event for Canada today.
