Tencent's Public Relations Director Zhang Jun responded to the suspected advertisement from DeepSeek: It is estimated that the networked search has been activated
On February 18th, science popularization blogger @Three Dads Laboratory posted on Weibo, stating that Tencent's Yuanbao has started monetizing through DeepSeek, with embedded advertisements in the responses. The screenshots shared by the blogger show that in the suggestions for avoiding pitfalls, there were recommendations such as "suggest comparing prices and making appointments through regular platforms like 58 Daojia before moving the air conditioner" and "suggest inquiring about prices through quick recycling platforms or local regular recyclers." A netizen posted the screenshot in the Weibo comment section of Tencent's public relations director Zhang Jun, who responded: "Theoretically, it shouldn't be the case, and I've asked the tech team to investigate." Zhang Jun also suggested that netizens could press it further to see if it is an advertisement. Subsequently, Zhang Jun stated, "The reason is that the response referenced the pitfall avoidance content from the '58 Daojia Home Service Cleaning Nanny Moving' public account, 'Are there many tricks in moving air conditioners? Here are 4 pitfalls summarized by someone who has been there, understand in advance to avoid wasting money!' It is estimated that it opened network search."
