Coca-Cola In Advanced Talks to Renew WPP Deal, Confirms Regional Publicis Partnership

Coca-Cola Co. is in advanced talks to renew its partnership with WPP, while also engaging Publicis Groupe as a complementary partner for its US and Canada operations. This follows a report suggesting Coca-Cola had dropped WPP for Publicis in North America. Coca-Cola's VP of Global Strategic Communications confirmed that WPP remains its only global partner and no further changes are anticipated.
Coca-Cola Co. said it is close to renewing its partnership with advertising company WPP and has enlisted Publicis Groupe as a complementary partner for its US and Canada business.
The clarification came after London's Financial Times reported on March 14 that the carbonated drinks giant had dropped WPP and hired its rival firm in North America.
In an emailed statement, Scott Leith, vice president of Global Strategic Communications, said Coca-Cola is in advanced talks to renew its deal with WPP as its only global partner and that no other changes are expected.
WPP and Publicis did not immediately respond to requests for comments from MT Newswires.
