Costco's Osaka-style pizza returns with 2 globally exclusive flavors, and Japanese snacks make their debut

Costco's deli section has launched new products, including the return of "Okonomiyaki Pizza" and the debut of Taiwanese Braised Pork Rice and Japanese Oden. The Okonomiyaki Pizza is priced at 60 TWD per slice and 300 TWD for a whole box, featuring a generous amount of bonito flakes. The Braised Pork Rice is priced at 99 TWD, served with Taiwanese black pork meatballs and pearl sausages; the Japanese Oden is also 99 TWD, made with bonito broth and Taiwanese white radish. Members have provided mixed feedback on the taste of the two new products, with some feeling that the cost-performance ratio is relatively low
In addition to the adjustment of the entry method to a membership card scanning system starting in April, the American-style warehouse Costco has also seen many changes in its deli area recently! The "Okonomiyaki Pizza," which was first launched last year, is back, priced at NT$60 per slice and NT$300 for an 18-inch whole box. It features a generous topping of bonito flakes and seems to have removed the "three-color bean" ingredient that received mixed reviews last year. Members who enjoy Japanese flavors can give it a try again.
Moreover, although today is April Fool's Day, the news of Costco launching Taiwanese-style braised pork rice and Japanese oden is no joke. The braised pork rice is made with Taiwanese pork to create the braised sauce, accompanied by side dishes including Taiwanese black pork meatballs, fresh domestic pork leg made pearl sausage, and pickled cucumber slices; the Japanese oden is based on Japanese bonito broth, with locally produced white radish added, and comes with various classic oden ingredients, each serving priced at NT$99.
Regarding these two newly launched products, members who have already tried them commented, "It's not bad, but the cost-performance ratio is low," "At this price, I'd rather eat the braised pork rice from the corner of my street," and "Trust me, just eat the hot dog."
Influencer Qian Qian was too curious and couldn't resist being one of the first taste testers. She said, "The braised pork is not very greasy, which is not my preference (I love sticky, oily food 😆), but the flavor of the braised pork really depends on personal taste. I think the most disappointing part is the rice; the portion I got was either undercooked or something else, the texture wasn't great." However, she found the Japanese oden to be very much to her liking, especially the "tamago yaki" ingredient, which was very delicious.
