
Market Chatter: Spain's Cellnex Telecom Said to Start Stake Sale Process for Swiss Business

Spain's Cellnex Telecom has initiated a stake sale process for its Swiss operations, aiming to raise up to 2 billion euros. Potential bidders include EQT, SBA Communications, and Stonepeak Infrastructure Partners, with preliminary interest from DigitalBridge Group and Phoenix Tower International. Spain-based Cellnex Telecom reportedly started the process to sell a majority interest in its operations in Switzerland to raise up to 2 billion euros.
Bloomberg News wrote Tuesday, citing people with knowledge of the matter, that potential bidders include EQT , SBA Communications and Stonepeak Infrastructure Partners. DigitalBridge Group and Phoenix Tower International are also said to have shown preliminary interest in the Spanish telecommunications towers and infrastructures operator's Swiss business.
JPMorgan Chase & Co. and Societe Generale are handling the process, which is expected to result in first-round offers by early May.
Cellnex declined while Swedish private equity giant EQT did not immediately respond to requests for comment from MT Newswires.
