
BMW officially announced that China will have a dedicated new generation model
On April 23, the 2025 Shanghai Auto Show opened. Oliver Zipse, Chairman of BMW Group, revealed at a press conference that the first China-exclusive new generation model is the BMW iX3L. Currently, the first domestically produced BMW new generation model has rolled off the production line in Shenyang and has begun comprehensive testing, set to meet Chinese consumers next year. So far, BMW Group has invested a total of 116 billion yuan in Shenyang, establishing the largest production base in the world. With the first batch of domestically produced new generation models rolling off the production line in Shenyang in 2026, more than 20 new BMW models, including new generation models, will be launched between 2026 and 2027
