Amazon has reached a multi-year cooperation agreement with FedEx, which will once again become Amazon's delivery service provider for large items, marking the official restart of their partnership that was interrupted in 2019. This cooperation comes as United Parcel Service announced in January this year that it plans to halve the volume of packages it handles for Amazon by the end of 2026. A FedEx spokesperson stated in an email: "We have reached a mutually beneficial multi-year agreement to provide residential delivery services for designated large items for Amazon." Amazon stated that this cooperation is not intended to replace its existing business with United Parcel Service. Currently, Amazon is able to independently complete more than two-thirds of package deliveries within the United States through its self-built small and medium-sized enterprise logistics network. Amazon spokesperson Steve Kelly said in an email: "We have reached an agreement with FedEx to make it one of our third-party logistics partners serving customers. FedEx will collaborate with partners such as United Parcel Service and the United States Postal Service to optimize capacity allocation and enhance customer experience in conjunction with our last-mile delivery network."
