The United States approved Verizon's acquisition of Frontier for $20 billion
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) approved the merger deal between Verizon Communications (VZ.US) and Frontier Communications Parent (FYBR.US) on Friday, with a transaction value of $20 billion.
In a statement, the FCC indicated that after review, it believes the deal will serve the public interest, convenience, and necessity. FCC Chairman Brendan Carr stated that by approving the transaction, the FCC ensures that the American people can benefit from a series of common-sense victories. This deal will unleash billions of dollars in new infrastructure development in communities across the country, including rural America.
