Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang announced at COMPUTEX 2025 that the company has transformed from a tech firm into an AI infrastructure company. He emphasized the need for a five-year roadmap to plan resources for AI, which he believes will be essential for data centers in the future. Huang highlighted Nvidia's significant growth, reaching a market value of $3 trillion, and noted a recent stock rebound of nearly 40%. The event focuses on AI, robotics, and future mobility, featuring major exhibitors like Nvidia and Intel.

TAIPEI, Taiwan (May 19): Nvidia Corp CEO and co-founder Jensen Huang told attendees at Asia’s largest technology show that the company is no longer just a technology firm but an AI infrastructure company.

In his keynote at COMPUTEX 2025, Huang explained that Nvidia has evolved from a graphics processing unit maker to a key player in AI infrastructure.

The 62-year-old Taiwanese American tech executive, wearing his signature black leather jacket, noted that no tech company has ever revealed a five-year roadmap, as they prefer to keep it secret.

“But Nvidia is not a tech company anymore. We have to plan ahead the resources, including power and electricity, as well as financing.

That’s why we have to come up with a roadmap for the coming years so that everyone knows what we are building,” the billionaire tech icon in Silicon Valley said at the Taipei Music Centre on Monday.

Huang, who founded Nvidia in 1993 and has served since its inception as president and board member, acknowledges that intelligence infrastructure, akin to the internet decades ago, “makes no sense now”.

However, he is certain that AI will become essential in data centres, similar to how the internet and power became integral. He believes that in ten years, every country and company will rely on AI, and all data centres will need it.

Huang, an electrical engineer, is a major figure in the global semiconductor industry, leading Nvidia, which became the first chip company to reach a market value of US$1 trillion in 2023 and US$3 trillion in 2024.

As the US-China trade war eased, Nvidia's stock rebounded nearly 40% in the past month, closing at US$135.40 (RM583.64) last Friday, with a market value of US$3.3 trillion.

COMPUTEX 2025, held from May 20 to May 23, focuses on AI, robotics, and future mobility, with 1,400 exhibitors, including Nvidia, Intel, and MediaTek.
