Li Shufu stated, "For Geely, we will never give up on the research and manufacturing of traditional internal combustion engine vehicles. We must walk on two legs, increasing investment in the development of the smart electric vehicle industry while also adhering to technological leadership in traditional internal combustion engine vehicles and hybrid vehicles, with continuous investment." In addition, when discussing "why Geely wants to acquire other car companies or invest in different automotive enterprises worldwide," Li Shufu mentioned that Geely is a manufacturing enterprise, not a capital operation enterprise. Geely's acquisitions of established automotive companies globally are to learn real skills and practice real craftsmanship. "These automotive companies with fundamental skills are our foundation. Without roots, the probability of success for an automotive company is very low."
