HSBC Hong Kong suspends offline account opening for mainland residents for HSBC One? HSBC Hong Kong: The news is false
Recently, some information circulated on social media claiming that starting from June 10, 2025, HSBC branches in Hong Kong will stop providing offline account opening services for mainland residents for the "HSBC One" account. A reporter verified with HSBC Hong Kong and found the information to be false. An HSBC Hong Kong spokesperson stated, "We have noticed the false information circulating online regarding opening HSBC accounts in Hong Kong. HSBC continues to welcome mainland customers to apply for account openings. To ensure customers have the smoothest and most comfortable experience, we will periodically review our service processes and arrangements. We also encourage customers to open HSBC One accounts through the HSBC Hong Kong mobile wealth management app to reduce waiting times at branches."
