On Tuesday (August 19), the semiconductor industry ETF fell by 2.02%, while the global technology stock index ETF, technology industry ETF, and internet stock index ETF declined by 1.89% to 1.34%. The regional bank ETF and consumer discretionary ETF dropped by up to 0.18%. The energy industry ETF, global airline industry ETF, and banking ETF increased by up to 0.10%, with the utility ETF rising by 0.97% and the consumer staples ETF gaining 1.03%. Among the 11 sectors of the S&P 500 index, the information technology/technology sector fell by 1.88%, with components Palantir, Oracle, Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) dropping 9.35% to 5.44%, performing the worst, while Intel rose by 6.97%, leading the telecom sector which declined by 1.16%. Components Trade Desk, Netflix, Warner Bros. Discovery, and Meta fell by 4.40% to 2.07%, leading the decline, and Google A also dropped by 0.95%. The consumer discretionary sector and energy sector fell by up to 0.37%, while other sectors rose, with the real estate sector increasing by 1.80%
