New World Development rose by 10% in early trading; the perpetual securities distribution scheduled for the 7th of next month will be deferred

New World Development (00017.HK) announced last Friday (22nd) that it has notified all perpetual bondholders that the distribution of the relevant perpetual bonds originally scheduled for next month on the 7th will be deferred. The deferred distribution involves collateralized perpetual securities with a coupon rate of 6.25 cents, which were listed in batches in March, July, and November 2019, involving USD 1.3 billion in perpetual securities.

The company also announced at the end of May the deferral of another four batches of perpetual bonds originally scheduled for distribution from June 9th to 22nd, involving USD 3.4 billion in perpetual securities.

New World opened 1.9% higher this morning (25th) and the early gains expanded, rising as much as 10.5% to a high of HKD 7.15. It is currently reported at HKD 6.95, up 7.42%, with a trading volume of 23.4231 million shares, involving HKD 162 million
