The S&P 500 Index closed down 0.4% preliminarily, with the consumer staples, healthcare, and utilities sectors dropping by as much as 1.6%, while the technology, energy, and telecommunications sectors rose by as much as 0.6%.
The Nasdaq 100 Index closed down 0.1% preliminarily, with constituent stock KDP falling 11.3%, Deka Medical down 7.4%, CSX down 5.1%, and "Bitcoin whale" Strategy (MSTR) down 4%. Starbucks, FTNT, Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, and AMD all fell over 2%, while NVIDIA, Alphabet A, Diamondback Energy, AppLovin, and Tesla rose by more than 2% at most.
The biotechnology index fell 1.8%
