UBTECH ROBOTICS' mid-term loss narrowed to 414 million RMB

UBTECH ROBOTICS (09880.HK) announced its interim results for the six months ending in June, with operating revenue of RMB 621 million, an increase of 27.5% year-on-year, attributed to the launch of new consumer products and the delivery of signed projects. The loss narrowed from RMB 516 million in the same period last year to RMB 414 million, with a loss per share of 94 cents. No dividend was declared.

In the first half of the year, gross profit was RMB 217 million, up 17.3%; the gross profit margin decreased from 38% to 35%, mainly due to a decline in the gross profit margin of educational intelligent robots and intelligent robot solutions.

During the period, revenue from educational intelligent robots and intelligent robot solutions was RMB 240 million, an increase of 48.8%; revenue from logistics intelligent robots and intelligent robot solutions decreased by 5.7% to RMB 56.2 million. Operating costs were RMB 404 million, an increase of 33.8%
