DiDi pilots autonomous pricing for return trip fees

In the issue of return trip fees, drivers face the costs of empty return trips and highway fees, hoping for compensation, while the platform also needs to ensure that passenger fees are transparent and reasonable. DiDi stated that the platform is conducting pilot improvements based on feedback from drivers and passengers, introducing an in-app negotiation method for return trip fees, displaying the highway fees of the route to passengers as a reference for return trip fees, and showing three tiers of amounts for passengers to choose from. This fee will be fully given to drivers to compensate for return costs, and drivers can also choose whether to accept the order. This pilot program will soon be launched in Jiangmen, Zhaoqing, Kaifeng, Quanzhou, and Jinan, and will be further improved and gradually promoted nationwide based on the trial situation. (Yicai)
