At the 8th Restaurant Industry Conference on October 16, Wei Wei, Vice President of Meituan and General Manager of Meituan's Dining Division, stated that a bustling dine-in business is the most important characteristic of a thriving restaurant industry. The restaurant sector is entering a period of deep reshuffling, and Meituan aims to be a long-term companion for quality dining. "Quality dining has never been a 'transient visitor,' but rather the 'foundation of the industry' that we must protect." Over the past year, Meituan and Dianping have explored three major directions: ecological optimization, service innovation, and operational upgrades. According to Wei Wei, to create a more favorable ecological environment for quality dining, the Black Pearl and Must-Eat lists will accelerate their expansion into more cities. Meituan is also addressing the current market environment by establishing a formal dining committee to work together with quality dining establishments. The star rating system will further iterate and upgrade to address issues such as evaluation competition and false reviews, severely punishing intentional undermining and malicious evaluations, and helping restaurant businesses acquire more healthy data assets
