Elon Musk is reportedly using the threat of leaving Tesla as leverage to secure approval for a controversial new compensation package. Despite repeated claims from Musk and Tesla's board, it is suggested that he has no intention of actually departing. This tactic is seen as a form of blackmail, reminiscent of past instances where Musk threatened to halt AI development unless he gained a significant share of the company.

Elon Musk and Tesla’s board keep repeating the threat that the CEO will leave if shareholders don’t approve his ridiculous new compensation package.

This is not happening and amounts to nothing more than blackmail.

Musk is not new to blackmailing Tesla shareholders.

It started in 2024, when Musk threatened to stop building AI products at Tesla unless he gained control of 25% of the company’s shares.
