The Consumer Discretionary ETF rose over 2.6%, leading the sector ETFs in the U.S. stock market, with the S&P Consumer Discretionary sector up about 4.1%

On Friday (October 31), the Consumer Discretionary ETF rose by 2.64%, while the Internet Stocks Index ETF, Global Airlines ETF, and Biotechnology Index ETF increased by up to 1.94%. The Global Technology Stocks Index ETF, Semiconductor ETF, and Utilities ETF, on the other hand, fell by up to 0.69%.

From January to October 2025, the Semiconductor ETF accumulated a gain of 49.90%, the Global Technology Stocks Index ETF rose by 30.69%, the Technology Sector ETF increased by 29.92%, the Consumer Discretionary ETF rose by 7.66%, and the Global Airlines ETF declined by 2.84%.

Among the 11 sectors of the S&P 500 Index, the Consumer Discretionary sector rose by 4.08%—with constituent stock Amazon leading the way with a gain of 9.58% (only behind First Solar among all S&P 500 constituents, which rose by 14.28%). The Energy, Industrial, and Financial sectors followed closely with gains of up to 0.64%, while the Telecommunications sector fell by 0.31%, and the Information Technology/Technology sector declined by 0.32%
