NIO starts offering ET7, EL7, ET5 purchase options in Germany, here are all the details

Pricing for ET7, EL7, ET5 essentially puts NIO in direct competition with Mercedes-Benz and BMW in Europe rather than Tesla's models.

NIO began offering purchase options in Europe overnight as planned and announced pricing as well as details on entitlements in Germany.

The company launched the ET7, ET5 and the EL7, known as the ES7 in China, in Europe at the NIO Berlin event on October 7, but only offered lease options at that time.

In terms of the prices of the three NIO models in Germany, they will compete directly with high-end models from Mercedes-Benz and BMW, and above what Tesla's models are selling for there.

If German consumers purchase the model including the battery, the NIO ET7 starts at €81,900, the EL7 at €85,900 and the ET5 at €61,900.

If consumers choose to purchase models without batteries under the BaaS (battery as a service) model, they will start at €69,900, €73,900 and €49,900 respectively, but will need to pay a minimum of €169 per month for the battery lease.

NIO recommends that consumers choose to purchase models under the BaaS model so they can use the company's signature battery swap service.

The pricing system essentially puts NIO in direct competition with Mercedes-Benz and BMW in Europe over Tesla's models.

The Tesla Model 3 starts at €49,900 in Germany and the Model Y at €539,900, information on Tesla's website shows.

Purchase prices

In Germany, we offer the current model range for purchase:

NIO ET7 - smart, all-electric flagship sedan: 69,900 euros

NIO EL7 - smart, all-electric mid-size SUV: 73,900 euros

NIO ET5 - smart, all-electric mid-size sedan: 49,900 euros

All vehicles can be ordered now.

Prices refer to the vehicle only and do not include the price of the battery.

To purchase a battery, there is an option to either buy a battery or pay a monthly fee for the Battery as a Service (BaaS) option.

For the Battery as a Service option, the monthly fee is 169 euros for a 75-kWh battery, or 289 euros for a 100-kWh battery.

We recommend choosing Battery as a Service to take advantage of the NIO Power Swap Stations. A purchased battery does not come with the option of battery replacement.

Benefits of the purchase option:

Five-year vehicle warranty: Covers up to five years or 150,000 km - whichever comes first.

Five-year roadside assistance: Includes towing service and reimbursement of mobility costs due to vehicle malfunction.

20 percent discount on a NIO home charger: When you order the NIO home charger, you automatically receive the discount.

10,000 NIO Points for NIO Life products: After you register for the offer in the NIO app and the car is delivered, you will receive rewards.

Two vouchers per month for battery replacement without service fee: Covers the service fee for battery replacement at a Power Swap Station, but does not include energy costs.

Vouchers can be accumulated and are valid for 24 months. This offer is only valid for users who purchase a model with the Battery as a Service option.

Those who order a vehicle model by December 31, 2022, will have it delivered to their home for free.

Users who already own an NIO will receive a discount of 1000 euros on the purchase or subscription of a new NIO ET7 or NIO EL7 and a discount of 500 euros on the purchase or subscription of a new NIO ET5 if they order by December 31, 2022.

Users who have already subscribed to an NIO will receive a discount of 1000 euros¹ on the purchase of a new NIO ET7 or NIO EL7 and a discount of 500 euros² on the purchase of a new NIO ET5 if they order by December 31, 2023.

For the first two years from receipt of the vehicle, we offer a free maintenance service. All maintenance services are specified in the user manual. The offer is valid for orders received until March 31, 2023.
