Just got a big news! Fuyao Glass America located in Moraine was raided by multiple law enforcement agencies on Friday. During the operation, a spokesperson from Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) stated they are collaborating with the IRS Criminal Investigation division and other law enforcement agencies to execute search warrants at 28 locations across Dayton, Liberty Township, Miamisburg, Moraine, and West Carrollton.
Fuyao Glass America is the wholly-owned subsidiary of China's Fuyao Glass Industry Group, manufacturing automotive glass. The group chose Moraine as its first North American plant in 2014, opening in 2016 with over 2,000 employees. In 2019, Fuyao's Moraine plant became the subject of Netflix's documentary American Factory. In 2022, Montgomery County commissioners approved the "Project Sky Team" request related to Fuyao Glass America's $300 million expansion in Moraine for EV industry production, expected to add at least 500 jobs, originally scheduled for full operation by January 2025.
