Tesla's Supercharger network has deployed 60,000 charging piles globally, marking a new milestone. The Supercharger network is the world's only DC fast-charging network, considered one of Tesla's major contributions to electrification, and is also the most extensive and reliable charging network in North America, changing the fate of non-Tesla electric vehicles.
This year, the deployment speed slowed down due to Elon Musk firing and then rehiring some members of the charging team, but the Supercharger network continues to evolve. Tesla just announced the milestone of deploying 60,000 Superchargers, with its 60,000th Supercharger located at the same station as Japan's 600th Supercharger. Earlier this month, Tesla shared new data about the Supercharger network, delivering 1.4 terawatt-hours of electricity through the network last quarter. Electric vehicle charging is becoming a massive business.
