Today I saw two news related to AI computing power, and it's interesting to compare them: ① According to reports, Elon Musk's artificial intelligence company xAI is raising up to $6 billion at a valuation of $50 billion. Sources said the financing, expected to be completed early next week, includes $5 billion from Middle Eastern sovereign funds and $1 billion from other investors, some of whom may want to increase their investments. According to sources familiar with the matter, the funds will be used to purchase 100,000 NVIDIA chips. Tesla's Full Self-Driving (FSD) is expected to rely on a new supercomputer being built in Memphis; ② Notice from Shenzhen Science and Technology Innovation Bureau on the issuance of "2024 Shenzhen Training Voucher Application Guidelines": Link. Shenzhen enterprises that meet the application conditions can receive up to 50% computing power subsidy (maximum 3 million RMB per enterprise) for renting intelligent computing power (A100, H800, 4090, etc.) from companies in the database for AI large model training.
