A vague concern: at this stage, Musk is no longer interested in making money.

He will definitely make money only when it is necessary to achieve his goals. But if making money might hinder what he wants to do, he will likely refuse it without hesitation.

To expand a bit: $Tesla(TSLA.US)'s mission doesn’t necessarily have to be completed by Tesla itself. The reason Tesla exists is simply that if Musk didn’t create Tesla, no one else could fulfill this vision. When everyone else can do it, Tesla must focus on what others cannot.

In Musk’s ideal world, Teslas would be everywhere, and how much profit Tesla itself takes doesn’t matter.

Greatness, obsession with profit, and shareholder friendliness—listed companies that can balance this impossible trinity are probably few and far between.

I guess I won’t be a Tesla shareholder again until Musk leaves and Tesla’s stock crashes.
