Trump: Hopes 100% of American cars will be made in the U.S.
Trump stated that although he has given U.S. automakers "some leeway" on tariffs, he expects automakers to fully restore domestic car manufacturing by next year.
Trump told reporters in the Oval Office when answering questions about tariffs affecting companies like TSLA: "All manufacturers will also produce parts here."
"This used to bother me a lot. (Automakers) make one part in Canada, one part in Mexico, one part in Europe, and then ship them everywhere. No one really knows what's going on."
"I think if you build a car, build it in the U.S.... In the next year, they must make everything in the U.S."$Tesla(TSLA.US)
