On July 24th, regarding the rumors about Apple planning to launch a foldable phone in 2026, Chen Jun, Vice President and Chief Analyst of Group Intelligence Consultancy, told reporters that Apple does have plans for a foldable phone, with a possible launch around 2027. Reporters learned that the maturity of foldable phone technology and market capacity are the main concerns that have delayed Apple from releasing a foldable phone. Chen Jun analyzed that from the perspective of the supply chain, Apple also needs to innovate on the product side, and a foldable phone is one of Apple's product planning directions. He predicts that Apple is expected to launch a large foldable phone product between 2026 and 2027. Currently, the folding effect of the screen does not meet Apple's requirements for foldable phones. "Apple conducts in-depth research and testing before launching new products to ensure that the products meet its high standards in functionality, performance, and durability. Therefore, the launch of Apple's foldable phone depends on whether the screen folding and hinge technology have reached its satisfactory level," Chen Jun said
