Over the past three years, the entire Tencent Cloud has undergone a transformation, including the game cloud.
On September 6, 2024, at the Tencent Global Digital Ecosystem Conference game session, Tencent Cloud announced the new upgraded game cloud full lifecycle solution, providing comprehensive support for the entire lifecycle of games.
The upgrade of Tencent Game Cloud's full lifecycle solution is aimed at helping game developers cope with the larger industry challenges today.
In recent years, facing the increasingly competitive game market, game developers need to pay more attention to the refinement of games, including strengthening capabilities in research and development support, network services, data system construction, and more. As a result, major game developers will also face multiple cost pressures and technical challenges in stages such as game development testing, launch, and operation growth.
Chen Liang, General Manager of Internet Industry Technology at Tencent Cloud, stated that based on the experience and capabilities accumulated by Tencent Games and Tencent Cloud, Tencent Cloud will provide comprehensive support for game enterprises throughout the entire process from development to operation, ensuring the smooth progress and successful implementation of game projects.
Specifically, in the development and testing phase, Tencent Cloud provides services such as game databases, social features, AI, development management, anti-cheating reinforcement, compatibility and performance optimization; in the launch phase, through services such as native elastic scaling network security, game acceleration, performance crash monitoring, and intellectual property protection, Tencent Cloud helps game enterprises improve deployment success rates, control cost expenditures, and provide a rich array of protection products to build a solid defense line for game security.
In the final stage of operation growth, Tencent Cloud will also provide game enterprises with a series of private domain operation services such as data operation, game compliance, user research, and knowledge community, helping customers finely explore consumer potential and extend the game lifecycle.
Chen Liang pointed out that for every game developer or related company, when they encounter a problem at a certain stage, it may not be possible to immediately find a suitable solution. Therefore, Tencent Cloud has been working on the full lifecycle for more than three years, continuously enriching the challenges, problems, and solutions that may be encountered in the game lifecycle.
However, Chen Liang also admitted, "Objectively speaking, the (full lifecycle solution) cannot be 100% comprehensive, there is still a lot of room for improvement now, it's just that the goal and the matrix we have set up now are for the full lifecycle."
In the future, Tencent Game Cloud will undoubtedly continue to iterate the full lifecycle solution, helping more game developers cope with industry challenges and compete in the global market
